Visit to Oxfordshire Record Offices

We had a great day yesterday when a team of 9 villagers (we lost 2 to illness) raided the Minster Lovell archives at the ORO. Each person had a different objective but between us we found plenty of useful information, and more we’d like to follow up. We covered the 1839 tithe map, some wills, indentures, The Swan accounts books, the Board of Guardians assessment committee minute book, records of war dead and a couple of very ancient 17th century documents. The staff were very helpful for this special village excursion. We plan to return!
